I'm Jason Soh. I founded Ontilus, a studio in Kuala Lumpur that builds bespoke AI operating systems for operators running several businesses at once — the ones whose data is scattered across a POS in one outlet, a spreadsheet in another, and an accounting package that sees neither.
What I actually work on
Shipped systems rather than slideware: an editorial operating system used in production by a publishing team, a coach-video marketplace, a caller CRM handling live loan pipelines, a hotel guest-engagement platform, and internal tooling for a luxury car brand. Each one is written up in Work, including what it does and what it does not.
How I write here
The articles in Insights follow one rule: every figure has to be already published on this site or measured in real work. That is why they argue from engineering reasoning rather than quoting industry statistics — an unverifiable number is worse than no number, and a confident citation nobody can check is the fastest way to lose a reader who knows the subject.
The consequence is that these pieces are less quotable and more useful. If you find a claim here you cannot trace, that is a defect — tell me.
Where I'm based
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Most of the work is for operators in Malaysia and Singapore, which is why the Malaysia pages talk about MyInvois, PDPA and the accounting packages actually in use here rather than their US equivalents.
